JACK MERCER | MANAGING DIRECTOR

Jack is a junior, studying finance and entrepreneurship from Akron, Ohio.
On campus, Jack has acted as the Team Lead for Miami’s Startup Weekend for two years, and currently serves as the VP of Recruitment for Alpha Kappa Psi and a Scholarship Chairman for Sigma Chi Fraternity. By leveraging his experience as the former Portfolio Manager for BSE, as well as his experience as an Investment Banking Analyst for Martinwolf, Jack is excited to grow the fund’s portfolio and further cultivate the culture within.

HARPER GRAVES

Harper is a junior studying finance and accounting, who will be working for US Bank in Charlotte, North Carolina as a Financial Crimes Intern this summer.
Harper feels that BSE has taught her “valuable lessons about the market, evaluating data, and balancing opposing viewpoints” after undergoing the new member education process. She is excited to use her previous experience as a Senior Associate for the Energy Sector, as well as a former Operations Director for her sorority, Tri Delta, in this role.

GABE BJORK | PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Gabe is a junior from Springboro, Ohio. He will graduate from Miami University with a Bachelor’s in Finance and a Master’s in Business Analytics.
As the firm’s portfolio manager, Gabe will be in charge of leading the Market Committee in generating the firm’s market and semester reports. Additionally, he will be responsible for continuously monitoring the portfolio’s holdings, risk exposure, and market developments. Drawing on his experience as a District Manager Intern for Aldi and the Senior Associate for the Technology Sector, Gabe is excited to fully explore the responsibilities of this role.

ANDREW SHAWBERRY

Andrew is a junior finance and accounting major from Tiffin, Ohio. This summer, he will intern with Lincoln International as an Investment Banking Analyst.
Andrew will work alongside Colin as they lead the new analyst classes through BSE’s new member education process. He is excited to apply his skills he acquired as a Modeling and Analytics Intern, specializing in investor relations, for Marathon Petroleum Corporation.

COLIN O’BRYAN

Colin is a junior from Louisville, Kentucky and a double major in finance and accounting. He joined the firm in spring of 2024, and has since been working as a Senior Associate for the Industrials Sector.
Colin will lead the new analyst classes through BSE’s unmatched new member education process. He is excited to share all that he has learned as the Managing Director for MUIBC and a Private Equity Analyst for CW Industrial Partners. This summer, Colin will work for Lazard as an Investment Banking Analyst.

DOM SORTOR | VP CORPORATE RELATIONS

Dom is a junior from Ann Arbor, Michigan and is currently studying finance. He joined the firm in spring of 2024, and has credited BSE with helping him develop the skills and knowledge necessary for pursuing a career in finance.
As an Energy and Utilities Associate for BSE, as well as a Project Manager for East Bridge Consultancy, Dom is excited to leverage his previous experience in this role to help “better connect our brothers to what they want to pursue professionally.”
